Why I wrote
these books.
FROM THE AUTHOR
I wrote these books because I believe that the work of inner formation begins in childhood. The stories children hear before they can read for themselves become the stories they carry inside for the rest of their lives. I wanted to give families a treasury of stories rooted in the wisdom that the great traditions of the world share — the understanding that every human being carries something sacred within them, that compassion and kindness are strengths, and that a life rooted in love is the most beautiful and most resilient life there is.
These books are my offering to the next generation. I hope they become companions — books that children return to, that parents read aloud long after the children know them by heart, that plant seeds whose fruits neither the reader nor the author can yet fully imagine.
