FOR PARENTS & EDUCATORSReading this book
opens a conversation.
Beautiful Values from Around the World is a formation experience in its own right. As children color each page, they absorb the value it carries — not through instruction but through the quiet, meditative practice of giving color to what matters. Each page is its own invitation into a conversation about a different culture, a different way of being, and the wisdom that humanity holds in common across every tradition.
✦ Relaxation and presence
Mindful coloring helps children unplug from technology and enter a state of focused calm — overriding stressful images and inviting the mind into stillness.
✦ Concentration and motor skills
The careful attention coloring requires builds concentration, improves fine motor skills, and develops the hand-eye coordination that supports learning across all areas.
✦ Creativity and imagination
Each page invites the child to make their own choices — which colors, which tones, which interpretation. The creative mind runs free within a meaningful structure.
✦ Global citizenship from the beginning
Eleven values from eleven cultures across four continents — each encounter building in a child the curiosity, openness, and respect for difference that the world needs.
ABOUT THE AUTHORSwaady Martin
This book was born from grief and from gratitude. My dear friend Francis Brian Reilly — Brian — passed away in May 2021, and I wanted to honor his life in a way that reflected who he was. Brian never saw a stranger anywhere in the world. He was extraordinarily well-traveled, deeply compassionate, and genuinely open to every culture he encountered — embracing difference with a warmth and curiosity that was entirely natural to him. The values in this book are the values he lived. Coloring them felt like a way of keeping something of him alive, and sharing it with the youngest readers felt like the most fitting tribute I could give.
In loving memory of Francis Brian Reilly — 28.03.1980 — 28.05.2021
